im also wondering how the mouse pad would fair in fps games with my micro$**** optical mouse (acutaly can't complain its quite good)...eg. how much worse would it be then my wooden table ? (which happens to bea great optical mousing serface)

I'll give it a try soon and report back. I can say though it is very smooth in Windows, same as you'd usually expect.
