Omfg what a breakthrough lol..

For example, we have just recently started to se heatpipes dammit! I had that thought over a year ago. Even though the market haven't really been needing them up until close, when all those "fast as hell aka hot as hell gpu's/cpu's" started to show up. Those chips cannot run cool enough unless ya use some big bad ass fan that requires ear plugs! It's all simple logic, and IT CAN BE DONE!

Do you honestly belive that we will be using simple air based cooling solutions for our high end machines in a couple of years from now?? lol go ahead but ya comp will smoke for sure.. ;)

So you don't think that all the companies that make cooling solutions use physics to get results? I hate to disappoint you, but just because something uses a heatpipe, or watercooling, doesn't mean it's magically going to perform well. I've seen reviews of watercooling solutions, and badly made heat pipe coolers that perform worse than a standard AMD cooler. Why? Because chances are the people that made these products simply thought the way you did. If you think it's so easy to do without research and development testing, then design me a heatpipe system. I will bet anything that it will not perform as well as many of the other heat pipe products on the market. Which kinda means that you've made something that people won't use.

Did I ever say that air cooling devices will be sufficient? No. I NEVER said anything like that, I'm just saying that your idea is the same thing that other companies have got qualified and experienced people working on, and they have many years of research and practical experience more that you will. More to the point, your idea is not new.

Well of course it will require R&D but you seem to think that anyone who ain't got a 20.000.000$ lab ever could come up with anything.. Personally i think that's bs.. It's all about ideas man, it happens all the time that private persons come up with ideas for different solutions no company has ever succeed to produce at a acceptable price.. And not in some fancy ass billion$ lab i can assure ya, in their freakin' garage..! Just back out da cheva and start the lathe and start turning the metal into something useful.. Of course this demands a bit of skill in handicraft and i do not lack on that part so why just keep saying that it's impossible? If ya have 3-4 comps of eatch brand, socket etc that would be enough to test your ideas on.. Sure it takes money to make money but not as mutch as you seem to belive..

Another very important thing is price, if you should start to produce a solution that only you have the patent for you could manage to offer a great alternative to todays overpriced parts. yeah yeah i know they will sell a greater amount but it's all about how mutch money ya spend on producing your parts and also of course how many employees you have to pay every month.. Not beeing in the top of "most sold products" does not mean you cannot get rich from it now does it.. :?:

All i can say is Beefy.............Calm yourself. Ok ok how about a cooling system that cooled exactly that. Your whole system!! I'm not sure how it would work but maybe a system of heat pipes and water colling.Would that work Beefy:confused:

Rugby, just cos I don't answer in an hour or so, doesn't mean I'm not going to.. Some people do have things to do you know...

And I never said that you needed money. Again, you're jumping the gun. You need research. You can sit in your garage and make some thing, but chances are the initial products ain't gonna work properly. That's why you research it and develop it and see how to make it better / faster / more efficient / cheaper...

Yeah, ideas are a great start. But if existing companies, who specialise in cooling solutions, haven't managed to make that great and all-encompassing cooler, doesn't that make you think why?

Also, you don't need to get PC's to test them on initially. Dan from www.dansdata.com has a really good way of testing coolers. He's rigged up a little device that pumps out a certain wattage of heat, and compares various coolers to it. How did I know that? Research.. :) Didn't cost much to make, and he can basically see how and why all the coolers act the way they do.

You can't just "start the lathe and start turning the metal into something useful". Unless you're trying to make a piece of art or something. :rolleyes2

Hmm isn't it obvious that you need research..:?: You develop a product, test it and then try to correct the flaws, then test it again and so on..?

I'm just pointing out that you don't HAVE to get in touch with some sort of physics professor in order to get someware. And like i mentioned you need knowledge and handycraft abilites, i've been practically livin' in the garage since I was a little boy, fixing motorcyckels, my motocross machines, gocarts, snowmobiles, cars you name it.. You see I'm no little cityboy who never gets filth on my hands.. ;)

I have great knowledge of work in front of the lathe and your statement that it's only good if i'm trying to make some piece of art!? Man.. do you even know what a lathe is used for i wonder.. :?: If so how many hours have you spent in front of one to judge sutch a wonderful tool like that..? Not to mention the mill cutter oh boy..

Have you ever used a ordinary hsf?? like the volcano7+?
It may come in handy with tools like that in order to make these products.. Or maybe you have some other great way to do it mr handyman..

Look, I'm not doubting your skills or abilities. What I'm trying to say is that if it were easy enough for one person to sit down and design a great cooler, don't you think it would probably have been done already? Most especially due to the great need of coolers in today's world? People will be actively searching for better alternatives, so like I said before, your idea isn't a new one.

Also, you missed my other point. You simply said sit down in front of a lathe and make something. You honestly expect to be able to make a great and efficient cooler doing that? People sit down and design these things first. You're the one that bought up the need for physics... I never said you need scientists to do it, but someone with a damn good understanding of both physics and metallic properties will go a long way.. Hell, even chemistry is going to help. How else would they have designed thermal paste?

Oh, and I like your nice little attempts at humor with picking on my PC. Very cute...

I never said I could do better. Chances are I couldn't. I'm just trying to help people face reality here, and make a cool thread..

:?:sorry but i don't understand that one.:?:

Oh well, i still think it's possible. I don't think people with intrests in sutch things should just tell themselves that it's impossible and start looking for something else to do.. That's not very creative, of course most of them will fail, but not all and that is a proven fact.. How many companys would excist in this world if everyone shared your opinion..:?: Not to many i can assure you..

All the little comments like "OH NO BEEFY HAS ATTEMPTED TO OVERCLOCK AGAIN SOMEONE DIAL 911!!!" and the follow ups...

Again, I'm not saying that it's not possible. I'm just along the lines of thinking that if you are going to attempt something, you might as well do it right.

I think I'll keep out of this thread now...
