Someone kindly hacked my computer when I left my firewall down. It was a minimal desktop with security maximised disabling any file handling or program running (so I couldn't run system restore).
I've reinstalled but my soundcard (SBLive5.1) produces no sound though it appears working normally. It's using interrupt 10 which Windows has also allocated to an ethernet card without asking (and no driver installed for it). Disabling the e-card hasn't resolved the potential sharing clash.
I'm using Windows ME, on Abit SR7-8X, Pentium 2.4, 512mb :blah: .
Can anyone advise, and how could I correct the above hack without reinstalling from scratch? :group:
