  • Lucky or Unlucky

I brought an Acer 3618AWLCi from Circuitcity and it's supposed to come with a Pentium M 735A processor but, it came with a 740 instead.

Is this good or bad because my computer makes random noises that aren't from the speakers. Do I need a bios upgrade? Also can there any other be potential problems that I am not aware of in the future.

(I brought the acer when they had that sale when it was 400)

As long as it can support the 533FSB and reports the correct GHz speed, then there should be no problems. As for random noises, explain what noises you are getting better and you can ber helped better.

If they are random high pitch squeeks, then it is usualy alright, Ive had a few newer systems do this to me, including my s754 3200 which I no longer own. As far as I could tell it only did it when there was some hard drive activity.

I don't know if this is the sound you are reffering to but maybe that helps.
