Does anyone know why AMD overdrive reports a lower cpu temperature than SpeedFan; for my cpu it is anywhere from 7-9 degrees C lower reported in Overdrive.
Hi reggah I tried AMD Overdrive and it accually got the fans and temperatures backwards. When I adjusted the cpu speed on the fan it changed the system fan speed. I am using speedfan when I adjust the cpu or case/system fan speed with Speedfan it gets it right cause I can look inside my case and see them change. Speedfan is working right on mine and AMD overdrive was backwards.

Now in this photo you will see where I manually turned my cpu fan off and I looked in my window and watched the fan go off and the cpu temperature rise.

Well Speedfan works great once you click on the info tab then get config you will see a ticket box open up click on that url almico that will send you to a site where you should register. then do this over again when you confirm e-mail and when you get back there again you go to next step find your motherboard from the dropdown list. Get a ticket number install the ticket number. Restart speedfan then adjust settings with the configure tab. This will put your settings configure and a ticket number on the web so you can use it later.
