  • a terrible, terrible thing just happened.......

............yesterday morning i hit the power button and 'yikes!' nothing on the monitor. well i quickly rattled through the obvious 'process of elimination' type tests and narrowed it down to my 4200i, damn shame really but, such is life etc.
now i have an urgent need for a new vid card <$200 U.S. (a need made no less urgent by the provision of a stand in by the name of '9600se', a horrible, sluggish thing to be avoided at all cost! ;]

please save me, new vid card for $199.00 or less?

    thanks ladz.

Your choices pretty much are the 5700 Ultra, 9600 Pro/XT, 9500 Pro, and the 5900 "value" version. I would go with the 9600 XT or the 9500 Pro (If you can find one).

        I'd get this 9600 XT . At $167, it's almost at the price of a 9600 Pro, but with even more performance. My :2cents: , : peace2: Mista K6
