recovering and saving data

I'va "accidently" formated disk. Instaled win xp over it.
I've saved data witn ontrack easyrecovery program.But some data are corrupted. Some wawe and riso ( misic program files ).
Is it possible to correct these file or repaire them in any way, so that I can use them.
Is there any software, apropriate for that. This files are crusial for my music album. I realy need help. TNX

I could be wrong, but I think that anything overwritten with the os install is gone without some very expensive recovery proceedures. If you had not re-installed, a $180 utility could probably recovered everything.
