Links have yes been difficult for me, but I am learning. One thing that I have noticed is that trying to make a link in here, That paticular one anyway, doesn't work with the vb code, untill you take off everything after the .com/.
Are you saying that my link doesnt show up on your pc and only mine like some fonts????? Does at least Gaze show up in here? that one and the beachtype are my favs, mostly Gaze.
And I'm going over to edit my marquee now.Thats the newest thing that I've learned and I can type it right in..
Actually, the link does work, but viewing the source code it is rather strangely written - I just showed an example of it being cleaned up.
Perhaps you were using the "http:/" button in conjunction with typing the link or something:?: I really don't know.

The Gaze font will appear on any PC that it is installed on. Though viewing the source code shows you forgot the quotation marks on that particular portion of the tag -- font="gaze".
Some browsers are more forgiving than others so even if the font were available to the browser it may not show in all browsers.

Any font you choose will be displayed on any PC that has that font installed. If the font you choose is not available to the browser then it will display a "default" font as determined by the browser settings.
So, the only way I could see the "gaze" font is to install it in Windows, which it is not at this time.
As the user, I can also elect which font to specify for the browser to use -- so if I had "gaze" and liked it, I could actually view all webpages in that font.

The only way you can be nearly sure with Internet Explorer, is to use a font that is installed in Windows during a Windows installation - though even that changes with different flavors of Windows.
Keep in mind though -- folks using Linux have a different font set entirely for the browser to draw from.
    Yes, fonts are a jungle:laugh:

Your best bet I suppose is choose a font that pleases you. After all, isn't that what it's all about?
Just keep in mind - others may not see it exactly as you do, but that is thier loss: peace2:

HTML parsing (if that is the right term:?: ) is a linear process. The browser reads it in a defined manner from point A to point B. At least in a perfect world:laugh:
Variations on the formation of tags can lead to strange stuff going on - sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I was just trying to help you clean up the HTML so you can achieve the best result with the most liability for folks using things besides Internet Explorer.

    ...........
As to the link you asked about in the other thread, I'm not sure:?:
There is some less than desirable nesting in the tags within that sig -- I think it caused VBulletin to not place the 'target="__blank"' which the forum software would normally do.
A fine example I suppose of that point A to point B thinking that I was speaking of.

I have every confidence in you TwizlZone.
You don't seem like one to give up, so you will go far.

The key is, everything has an order - some tags require closing and that sort of thing. Once you sort the order out, it starts to make sense.

That's one reason a couple of us like that boring old Notepad. It is mundane and doesn't have any fancy buttons or dazzling graphics. It just lets you be alone with your tags so you can get to know each other.

Cool isn't it, how you can string a bunch of tags together like that. And if you do it right, you get all kinds of neat stuff going on:D
