  • How do I disable system restore in Windows 2000?

Is there a system restore to disable to save space in 2000?

Also I've read the wonderful guides here on XP.

I was wondering if there are any guides to tweaking windows 2000?

    Thanks:D

Sorry, but I went from Win98SE to WinXP as Win2k wasn't the best for a gaming platform. Regarding the Win2k guide, I don't think any of our writers are using Win2k so I couldn't say with any degree of honesty that one will be coming out.

I don't believe there's a system restore in Win2k - but I've only used Win2K at work. System restore is unique to WinME and WinXP as far as I know.

As for a Win2K guide, well to be honest in my eyes XP is just that little bit better, and with Longhorn around the corner, 2K will not be the dominant desktop platform. It will be XP for the next year followed by the transition to Longhorn.

I use W2K at home and there is no system restore like XP has. It's just in the F8 option to restore to a good copy. I've dug around in the accessories where it normally is kept and havent seen it. I did like that ME had an option to save a good copy just in case something happens but not in W2K unless I've overlooked it.

System restore is not a part of 2K.
