wtf? no more traditional popups, now i only get these! lots

  • wtf? no more traditional popups, now i only get these! lots

    WTF! now like every 5 minutes i get a few of these things! if i leave my computer, even if i just turn it on after a while and stuff, i have like a dozen of these *******s waiting for me! *just got one again* and they are all for anti-popup software! how do i get rid of these! i havnt been getting the normal ones like the X10 cam or whatever, only these! please! help me make it stop! its driving me absoloutly crazy!:snip:

    thats your lovely windows messenger service lol you running xp or w2k? either way go into your services and turn it off...


    Windows 2000
    Click Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools->Services
    Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
    Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
    Click the STOP button.
    Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
    Click OK


    Windows XP Home
    Click Start->Settings ->Control Panel
    Click Performance and Maintenance
    Click Administrative Tools
    Double click Services Scroll
    down and highlight "Messenger"
    Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
    Click the STOP button.
    Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
    Click OK


    Windows XP Professional
    Click Start->Settings ->Control Panel
    Click Administrative Tools
    Click Services
    Double click Services Scroll
    down and highlight "Messenger"
    Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
    Click the STOP button.

    that should pretty much cover whatever version u got.

      awsome! thanks man.....lets see if it works..

      BTW, i'm on XP Pro, i've had XP pro for a long time on my computer and on my dads computer (this one, my hdd is dead), and the popups just started like last week......thanks anyway for the answer:afro:
