is there anyway to disable this? cause when i uninstall nvidia drivers and reboot my comp..winxp always installs some drivers :/.
and i want to manually install them from browsing and such
From there you will have seven tabs. Choose the one labeled "Automatic Updates" and you can check box telling Windows to disable the automatic update function.
This should be the only manner that Windows will update drivers in your system. If it is trying to update through the core files, then the drivers you are using may be way out of date.

I know what he is talking about. When I uninstall drivers for say my gfx, after reboot, xp quickly installs it's own drivers for it again and won't let you stop it. Then it says your device is installed and ready to use. What about installing the new driver in safe mode after the reboot to prevent xp from contaminating your fresh driver install.
Just an idea. Any input?
