    if you haven't updated lately, there's a new one on the windowsupdate site...........

    That's not really very informative. What does it do? Who does it apply to? Is it already in asklepois's signature? :)

      i downloaded it yesterday, without picking up on the particulars other than you could have your system compromised through your memory...........so, didn't link the page and well here goes...there's a new one today, same subject http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

        Actually a ton of security bulletins went out yesterday. I got 4 emails from tech net. One of the worst flaws has to do with MS Office. But there is also an update to the XP OS.

        C Net explains them pretty well.

            the update available for Windows is not a critical update.
            it is a low risk update.
            btw i have those new 5 updates listed in my sig ;)

                Excellent!!!!

                I haven't been faithful to the office updates so had many sp's to install. But everything seems to be ok after all the updating.

                Word to the wise here... you will need your software disks to get any of the MS OFFICE updates. All security fixes require that you have the latest service pack installed prior to downloading. And they warn you that if the software is not legit the updates could do damage to your system.

                The EULA has some new wording too....

                  the new ones are critical and not on your list......they relate to compromises to your system through memory..............possibly for xp users only
