IE Patch Critical

Hi folks,

There is another flaw in MS IE that they have issued a critical patch for.

While I know many of us do not use IE you may want to install this patch as a safety feature. According to Tech Net your computer may be vulnerable by just having IE installed even if you are not using it.

Trying other browsers is fine but just having IE installed on your system is enough to make you vulnerable to this flaw.

Time to patch up!! :thumb:

Windows Update also has a patch for a known Windows Media 9 flaw, just out.

seems pretty typical to me... something 'critical' just about every few days.
oh well... such is life with M$

but it makes me glad I use Firebird, so I can avoid all the other IE problems ;)... even if I can't excape this one

I'm aware of that, but since windows is on 90% + of the desktops out there it gets more of the attention

There is a lawsuit coming up that expresses that same sentiment.

A 50 yr old woman in LA is suing MS for shoddy workmanship in their software that allowed someone to steal her identity. She has asked that it be made into a class action suit.

Besides it's not M$ job to see that people install the updates they release now is it..

well M$ will win the suit i have no doubt abt that but what will happen if they counter act saying that the lady have defamed them :shrug:

i feel really sorry to bring back this old thread but MS has just released 7 hotfixes in one day :(
5 of them apply to Windows based boxes while 2 apply to Microsoft Exchange Servers
Time to give Windows Update a visit...

yeah this 15th October came as a real shock. 7 updates in one day and woooooh there goes the size of my sig.
that page of my own is a good idea but the problem will be that people won't visit it. atleast they will see the sig as it is right there in almost every thread
