Status bar in WindowsExplorer

For some reason, my status bar is always gone, i have to go and enable it. Is there some setting to keep it there?

in winxp it's a window dependent setting, you will have to 'apply to all folders' in Folder Options (under View) to get it on all the windows

*if you launch Folder Options from a window's options and apply the settings to all windows, it will make all the settings for that window the default for all windows where applicable
