  • Windows registry problem

I recently rebooted my computer (win xp pro) and at the login screen it told me that it couldn't load my registry and had to use either a log file or alternate registry file. Now it keeps on doing that. I thought of saving the registry file somewhere where the computer can find it, but I don't know where. Has anyone had that problem before, and do you know how to fix it?

"Windows could not find the registry and had to use a log file or alternate copy"

I had just overclocked the video card wih rivatuner. can that be it? and now it's saying each time I reboot that it has to do a scandisk, and then it says 'repairing' and then 'unspecified error occured!'. this is just freaking me out!

Ok, I think I fixed it. I upped the CPU voltage to 1.7v, switched the cpu speed back to 167/33 and upped the multiplier to 13.5. I don't get any errors. I think it was harddrive corruption.
