  • Closing Outlook automatically at shutdown?

    Hello all...quick question for ya:

    Has anybody figured out a way to automatically have Outlook close when you shutdown? When I have Outlook open, and I try to shutdown, it doesn't automatically close. Instead, a warning pops up which says (paraphrasing here): Please close all Microsoft Office programs before shutting down.

    Thx in advance!

      Use Cacheman or Regedit to alter this setting:

      [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
      AutoEndTasks=1

      Automatically closes running applications when Windows shuts down.

        Sorry, I should have specified: I have XP Pro and Office 2002 (Office XP).

        I'll give it a try PI. Thx!

        EDIT: Yep, worked perfectly. Thx PersionImmortal!
