heres another problem with another comp. runnin on winxp home i cant get to many login pages for email sites and school sites i dont know if its some program that deny these pages like mcaffe or some security issues.

Well, try disabling McAfee. Can't really think of much else ATM. :( -
this also effects any attempts to download from windowsupdate as well fyi. hope that helps clarify thigns.
i disabled mcaffe completly try changed internet security to minimum and didn't change anything. i also tried to use AOL to reach login pages of hotmail, and bankofamerica and i cant reach them damn.Comment

How exactly can you not reach the pages? Do you get an error message? I am particularly curious as to what error message Windows Update gives you.
Edit: I dug up an old thread of mine from a while ago. I never got the problem resolved, but I think my problem was more severe. Take a look through it and try some of the stuff in there:
