Ms-Dos programs exiting as soon as they are opened

Just like the title, whenver I try to run certain ms-dos programs, they load for about 2 seconds then exit out, not just once, but many programs do this. I've tried switching the campatibility mode to other O/S but it doesn't help...

You're likely running into a compatibility error anyway as is common in some older programs. Create a shortcut (if there isn't one already) and right click on the properties. You should find a check box somewhere in there telling you to close the program when it is finished... uncheck it. This will leave the small DOS window open so you can try to find out what is going on.

I can't seem to find that option, any more info on where its at or another way to fix this problem?
