  • XP freezes on installation

    Hi everyone,

I have a big problem when installing Windows XP. When I start installation the computer freezes after about 20 mins, and the screen goes blank and starts flashing.

I thought it might be the memory on my computer, so I upgraded the memory but even after upgrading the problem is still there. I have about 384 MB of memory. Now I am thinking it might be my Graphics Card I have a NVidia Geforce2 mx 100/200. I don't wana mess about again because the installation process is long and stressfull.

    Any thoughts?

It sounds more like bios options, go into your bios and make sure "virus protection" is disabled and that "plug and play os" is also disabled.

if your bios has the option for "most compatable defaults" use that instead.
