KlezH. virus cause many problems

Klez virus found by Norton, but already did damage because no longer can update norton virus definitions. Did as recommended,uninstalled and reinstalled Norton with no improvement. Read that it might be a windows installer problem too. Also can't run scandisk anymore.
Did a scan after I turned off system restore, but since the virus was already found it did not find it again, and there were no others.
If anyone knows more I should be doing I appreciate the input.

Did all that, still having lots of windows problems.

Sounds to me like internet explorer might be missing some critical files, I suggest you reinstall IE 6 and see if that helps.

Found the problem. When I reintstalled Norton I had reinstalled the original Norton updater. I went to Norton website and got the latest version of Norton Update installer, installed it. To my surprise, all is well again.
