    hi i was wondering if anyone can help me out with this problem.

    i just recently made a new computer and everytime i install a fresh copy of xp pro i cant get past the xp logo screen, it just freezes the bars dont even move. i tried reinstalling windows xp about 3 times and i get the same results, i tried installing windows ME and it works fine.

    my computer specs are:

    asus mobo p4r800-vm
    Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3E GHz
    Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512 512MB DDR400
    western digital 80 gig caviar hd

    can someone pls help me out

    This may or may not be your problem, but this is what happens sometimes when you try to install Windows on an overclocked system. Make sure you are running at the processor's default speed and that your memory timings are not too tight (or set to fast). This ensures a smooth installation of the OS and then you can OC after the system is set up.
