JHelp installing windows

a buddy of mine just purchased a new computer, however, it did not have the OS installed. While we were installing it, we found a problem, it would go thourhg the setup, and at the end of installation, it would say "rebooting". Once it was rebooted, it would not remember the installation. IT would format the hard drive, and run through swetup again.
Any advice?
He has a A7v400-mx Asus mobo
2400+ Sempron processor, 256MB DDR RAM
80BG HDD

GO into the BIOS and set it to boot from the hard drive. If you keep booting from the CD, it'll keep restarting the installation.
