  • Internet Explorer problem

I am running WinXp Pro on a laptop. Have been using same setup for a couple of years but now I can not connect to the internet via internet explorer. I get the following message:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

I have unistalled and re-installed explorer both from my XP install disk and from the microsoft website. I can access the internet via msn with no problem, but each time I exit, I get the above message.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

He can enable automatic updates, though I wouldn't do that myself.
