  • Running XP pro now; How do I setup for dual boot to run Win 7 RC?

I have XP pro right now on my computer and wanted to try Win 7 RC. Was just wondering how do I make my computer dual boot my current XP install and Win 7 RC? Do I have to do a new partition and reformat and install? Or can I just install a second OS and keep my current XP pro install?

Just a note, I only have an 80GB HDD (I know I need to get a way bigger one soon ><)

thanx for any help guys ^^

    You need two seperate partitions

In my opinion your best bet would be to purchase a second HDD to install Win7 to.

    Once you have

    a) partitioned your existing drive

    or

    b) installed a second HDD

you only need to insert the win7 disk (that you created from the .iso file) and follow the prompts for a custom install to the desired drive/partition

If you have ONLY that 80GB, you`d better stick to XP. Or install 7 instead of XP

I was gonna get a second HDD anyway, so, If I want to have XP pro on my 80GB drive and Win 7 on my new 640GB HDD, I dont have to set it up as a Raid array do I? Or do I?

        thanx again guys ^^
