    Will Vista's firewall protect a clean install while using Windows Update before installing Norton Internet Security?

    So long as you have a hardware firewall and only go to to Windows Update you should be alright. You won't find too much support for Norton on this website although I do understand that the newer versions are not as great of resource hogs as previous versions.

      Since I dont have a hardware firewall, installing Norton first will have to do. Yes, Norton is very light on resources that is one of the reasons I stopped using Zone Alarm. Thank you for your help
