Wow im shocket to be struggling with this...

Im working on a older pc that im trying to turn into a ht media pc...

i went from xp to windows 7

i actualy have both os' installed at the same time... and another partion that i install my games and programs on...

What is the quickest and easiest way to get my new win7 install to recognize all my programs that are installed in xp?

really this should not be something that is so difficult. im sure im not the only person that stores programs on another partion.

can you just click into the xp folder/desktop and use what programs you want? i do that on mine sometimes im in win7 and i just look into the xp hdd and click on what program i want to use and vice versa

That may work with some of the programs but I doubt it'll work with them all. Storing programs on multiple drives is not the issue but trying to use said programs with multiple operating systems may not be possible. I would think that you may have to install your programs in Windows 7 because (and I could be wrong) you need the registry entries for most programs installed in the operating system for them to work. Just a guess but I would think opening some newer programs from another operating system may even cause them to be deactivated.
