I read through the forum and did not see anything regarding this, so I thought I would ask, my apologies if I missed it. I've noticed that if you create a link in My Network Places to a shared resource on another machine or server that XP Pro will automatically generate an icon to the target machine and all of it's resources. I'm sure Microsoft sees this as a convenience, however I find it to be a pain in the nether regions. Has anyone discovered a way of turning off this annoyance so only what you specifically want and map appears in My Network Places?
