Changing the network icons in Systray?

It's good to have icons to let you know what is happening on the network and internet connection - the trouble is they are both identical and i would like to change one of them so that I know which is which (mainly coz I'm on Dialup and don't want to run up my phone bill) Can I change the icon or make the network icon hide?

Has anyone got any ideas?

ya right clikc on local area connection in my network places and uncheck show icon.

Also having this icon there does slow network performance down a tad becuase it has to be constantly pinging everything and getting the latest information.
