  • Repairing Internet Explorer on Windows XP

    A friend of mine has broken his Internet Explorer somehow while using Ad aware. If he clicks explorer or attempts to use a link, explorer starts to open and then a 'send an error report to ms..' window comes up.

    I downloaded the IE 6.0 web installer and sent it to him over MSN. He downloaded the updates and his pc restarted. Still getting the same error :\

    Is there any way to reinstall IE completely on XP? or to do a repair?

    Thanks for any help.

      Actually with Windows XP there are a couple of extra steps involved.
      Microsoft support is here to help you with Microsoft products. Find how-to articles, videos, and training for Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, Windows, Surface, and more.

      That link should have all the info you need to get IE repaired.

      If that fails, this page has some nice pics +info for reinstalling after a necessary registry tweak;
