  • P67 Extreme4 gen3 - Pcie slot5 is it connected to PLX8608 chip ?

    Hi there,

I was trying to find out if anyone, or the kinda ASrock tech support can tell me if the bottom PCIe slot (slot5 the one that runs at x4) on the P67 Extreme4 Gen3 is connected straight to the P67 chipset PCH or it too is connected to the PEX8608 bridge chip like the other PCIe x1 and PCI slots.

The reason I ask is that I'm going to be using PCIe slot 5 (the x4 one) to run my Killer NIC 2100 and i'm concerned about any latency that the PEX8608 chip will add to it if indeed this slot runs through the PEX8608.

I am aware of this diagrams below but I dont know if its just a marketing/simplified illustration Id like to know EXACTLY what runs through the PEX8608.
