Re: About the question "Does my motherboard support AMD AM3+ CPU?"

Hi Emily, there is an AM3+ update for the 770DE3L: ASRock > Products > Motherboard > 770DE3L > Download

But sadly there is no update for the M3A770DE: ASRock > Products > M3A770DE

These two boards are almost exactly the same design so I think it should be possible to update the M3A770DE ?

There is a new 1.80 bios that says it updates CPU code but there is no information about what CPUs were added ?

Please can you ask about this for us, I know owners of this board would be very happy to have an AM3+ update,

    thanks

    :)

Thanks for replying, does R&D have any ideas what the 1.80 bios update was for then?

          Dear Nick,

Due to M3A770DE hardware design, M3A770DE doesn't support AM3+ CPU.

          Thanks!

If you even ask a question about weather, answer is the same:

LOL Thanks for your support Emily!

Luckily we can use the 770DEL3 AM3+ bios update on the M3A770DE:

Maybe R&D thought that just changing the color of the board would stop AM3+ working...

So, no BIOS update for 870 Extreme3? That's strange, seeing MB's like 770 Extreme3 receiving a GO for AM3+ CPUs. Can anyone confirm if the old 870 (not R2.0) will be updated?
                Thanks!

                  It is unlikely.
When I first bought my MB, I attached a fairly chip CPU waiting for AMD to offer its Bulldozer (FX) series. Unfortunately, AMD's FX is not worth buying, therefore, I want to upgrade to Phenom II X6 1100 which is the top K10 CPU.
