Extrem3 Gen3 fails to Post

I'm having a problem with a new computer I just built. It won't clear the POST! The motherboard is a ASRock Extreme3 Gen3, and the Dr. Debug is coming up with a error code of B2. I can't even get into the BIOS, its just coming up with a blank screen. There is no after market video card, I'm just using the integrated video card that is with the mobo. If you have any solutions I would greatly appreciate it.

Intel i5 2500K
Cooler Master 212 Evo
DDR3 Corsiar Vengence 2x4GB
seasonic s12II 520 bronze

doesnt it get to the bios page? try with only one stick of ram installed and what does it say the b2 error is in the mb manual?

It dosen't get to the bios page, and I've already tried it with just one stick of ram and still get nothing. I looked up the error code in the manual and it says Legacy Option Rom Initialization.....any ideas?

which port are you plugging your hdd into? try on first intel sata3 port or intel sata2 port if your not using ssd,also try without any hdd/ssd and see if it gets to bios

I have the hdd into the sata2 at first, I unplugged it and put it into the sata3 port and turned it on and still didn't get anything. I even tried it without the hdd being hooked up and still keep getting the B2 error code....

It should reach bios with no hdd attached,it only leaves CPU/mb and psu,do you have spare psu to test with?

Oh and you can try clearing cmos by removing mb battery for 30mins then trying

I don't have a spare PSU to use at the moment, I've already reset the cmos and booting and had no luck with that! Are you certain its either the CPU/mobo or psu, or is it something little that I'm missing/overlooking?

I'm not sure,I don't know what that error is for either,if it was psu I don't think it would show an error code like that,still could be memory incompatibility issue too,did you test with one stick and test each ram slot one by one?

Yea just tried it and still can't get it to work. Do you know if this ram would work with this mobo?

Is it on asrocks qvl list? It should have a list in your mb manual too

I checked on their list and it isn't listed....do you think that this could be the problem? I guy on tom's hardware thought it would work even though i'm not finding it listed on their website....here's the link

I don't know,their list might be outdated,but I'm only guessing,its best to go off what ram is listed in the qvl list then you know for sure it will work,ram might be fine and it could be something else but you need to test with different ram to rule it out

It acts like if you would have some card in PCI or PCI-E slot, if you're sure all the slots are empty, then you have to somehow try to change UEFI option in bios to legacy rom, don't remeber right know how it's name correctly. But first reset cmos like few users recommended it, pull out cmos battery and close + and - crosswise for a few seconds just like here.

took the battery out for about 5 minutes and placed it back in, still coming up with the same error code......if only I had some extra DDR3 RAM laying around to try out....
