  • FM2A75 Pro4-M give 5 beeps

    I'm assembling a desktop pc but after power-on i hear 5 short beeps.
    Power-led is on, casefans and cpu-fan are working.
    No video on monitor, i can't get into Bios.

    Any suggestions?

    Hardware setup:
    MB: Asrock FM2A75 Pro4-M
    CPU: Athlon II X4 760k, boxed cooler
    Mem: Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3 2400MHZ PC3-19200 Predator Kit
    SSD: Plextor PX-128M5S
    HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 7200
    Case: Coolermaster N200

    A five beep code for your board's AMI BIOS means CPU error or failure. Your board needs at least BIOS version 1.70 for that processor.

    Also, the Athlon II X4 760k does not have built in graphics, you did not list a graphics card, are you using one?

      Thnx for your response.

      The graphics card is a Sapphire HD 7770 1GB.
      The bios-version is 2.60

      The graphics card might be the problem: that fan is not working.
      Or the power to the fan (PCIE) from the Corsair CX430

      The 5 beeps may indicate graphics problems in that case?

        Yes, the five beeps can mean a damaged add on card of any kind, including a video card.

        Do you have the six pin cable connected to the graphics card?

        Also, the four or eight pin cable for CPU power to the mother board?

          There was plastic inside the Pci-e connector from the psu.
          Video works now, no beeps, bios-post on screen.
