Hello Folks,
I have an compatibility issue with 4GB(2x2GB) trascend memory.
My motherboard is an Asrock Conroe1666-D667 **R1.0** and 4GB (2x2GB trascend memory modules).
The problem is that the bios and also a linux x64 only recognizes 2.8GB of ram memory.
How can I do to have 4GB on my linux?
Upgrade the bios can fix it?
I doesn't try to upgrade the bios:
ASRock > ConRoe1333-D667 R1.0
because when I go to the BIOS download page:
ASRock > ConRoe1333-D667 R1.0
and try to download:
the zip name is for **R2.0** and i don't know if I can upgrade my R1.0 motherboard with the R2.0 zip
Also I tried to configure manually the BIOS to set the DRAM to apropiate values, but that didn't work. Also a very strange thing happen. Now Speccy tells me the (CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, tRC) values are (3, 3, 3, 9, 12) instead of (4, 4, 4, 12, 16)
More details.
Memory - From Speccy:
Type DDR2
Size 4096 MBytes
Channels # Dual
DRAM Frequency 199,5 MHz
CAS# Latency (CL) 3 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 3 clocks
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 3 clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS) 9 clocks
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 12 clocks
Thanks in advance.
