    BIOS 4.0 for X79 Extreme 9 does not post

    I have tried every way I can think of to get the motherboard to execute the BIOS upgrade. I started from the folder level unzipped. From the folder level zipped, from the 00 file level. It displays the file on the screen (F2 or F6) but just sits there. Do I need a BIOS chip?
