Whitch BIOS Version should i install?
I want To upgrade To a i7 3770k
Now i have ver 1.6
For New CPU i need 2.1
I can install 2.1 or beta 2.16
What do you mean what should i install?

You MUST install BIOS version 2.10. Do NOT install BIOS 2.16 until you install 2.10 first.

BIOS 2.10 is a special version that updates the Intel Management Engine firmware that is part of the BIOS file. That is needed for Ivy Bridge CPUs.

No other BIOS version, such as 2.16, has the Intel Management Engine firmware update, only version 2.10 has the updates needed for Ivy Bridge CPUs.

Be sure to follow these instructions about BIOS version 2.10 when using Instant Flash:



Don't forget to update the Intel Management Engine driver ver:8.0.2.1410 after you install BIOS 2.10. If you use AXTU or the Intel graphics, you must also update them, as seen on this page:

I don't know what version of Windows you are using, just be sure to get the correct driver versions.

Can i copy the bios to a diskette and install it via bios or what do you think is the best way to update
Make it sense to update after 2.1 to 2.16

You cannot switch back to a BIOS version earlier than 2.10 now, as said on the BIOS download page of your board. If you do that you will have problems with the board.

2.16 adds Windows 8 support and the Ultra Fast boot option that is only useable with Windows 8 and UEFI booting Windows installations. If you plan on using Windows 8, then it would make sense to use 2.16.

If its only for win8 faster boot then i let it to 2.10
