  • EX38_DQ6 won't boot

    I've had my ex38-dq6 for 1m and today it just will not boot, no new drivers or hardware were installed.
    Problem: When you turn it on board lights and cpu fan start, then after 5 secs it all stops and trys to start again. I've removed one memory stick but made not difference, I have removed battery and reset cmos and still nothing.

    Any advice would be greatful.
    I've always had gigbyte mob's for last 10 years and love them.

    This is my second ex38-dq6 after the first one was rma'ed (its probelm was no life at all when powered up.)

    Can you get into the BIOS at all?

    What is your full specs? And did you mean 1m, meaning you JUST built it?

      1m = worked OK 1 month.

      Yes I'm unable to get into bio's at all, it shuts down and restarts before bio's screen. (i had one issue that was not normal before it stopped working my keyboard stopped working, so rebooted and that was it no start just cycling)

        Have you removed the battery (Easier to just put a jumper on the Clear CMOS pins, and then fully unplugged your PSU for 10 minutes or so?

        If not try that, and then as you did, try with one stick of ram. Did you have the voltages set properly for MCH and RAM? 2x2 needs some tweaking to be stable

          Re: EX38_DQ6 won't boot

          Guys great news

          My gigabyte board is OK.

          Found out one of my memory module is snuffed. Brought some new modules and inserted no issue.

          Seems my trusty G-Skill ram died on me.

          Thanks for all your help.
