  • Critical error : not stable and test fail with all modul 2x2g pc8500 on EP35-DS3P

Iam can not stable memory with all seri DDR2 PC8500 (1066 mhz) more.
    Iam test with OCZ DDR2 Reaper X PC8500 , OCZ DDR2 FLEX II pc9200 (1150 MHZ) ,Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2X2g PC8500 1066 ,Corsair 4096MB (4 x 1024MB) PC2-8500 1066Mhz DDR2 RAM - 5-5-5-15 - Dominator.
Iam using memtest 86 (dos ), memtest (windown) and pcmark2008 test memory :
    - Pass Bus 800 (all cas 4 & 5) memory multy :4 but over 860 mhz fail
    - Memory multiplier 3.33 /3.1 / 3 / 2.5 /2.4 /2 fail all test with memtest86 ,memtest ,and pcmark 2005 (memory test)
my setting : 5-5-5-18 advanced timing all auto (vdim ok)
Please test your produc with any DDr2 4g pc 8500 + and help me fix prolem or fix in next bios
    Thank You.

Re: Critical error : not stable and test fail with all modul 2x2g pc8500 on EP35-DS3P

YOu may need more then +1 MCH

And I would suggest these as high starting points for 4GB 1066
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ 3-4
Rank Write to READ Delay________ 3-4 or 9-11 May need 15-18 but try 9-11 first
    Write to Precharge Delay_________ 3-5
Refresh to ACT Delay______________52-62 May need 68, but not likely *MOST IMPORTANT FOR 4GB*

    Read to Precharge Delay__________ 3-6
    Static tRead Value_______________ 7-10
Static tRead Phase Adjust________ auto <<< Leave on Auto or Zero Or 1-31

And just so you know, you may need a fan on your NB if it is hot (Feel it and if you cannot touch it for more then 10 seconds that is HOT)

And also, those are brands I personally feel are not compatible with GA boards, but many get them to work. So just keep at it, memory settings are all trial and error. Lots of work for sure for 4gb at 1066

No I dont have the same settings, or pc or ram. But I do know what should work for that ram and your board settings

Are you SURE those sticks are good and not DOA? Have you ran memtest86+ 2.01 on them at stock? If not do that >>>
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

        They could be DOA

With those settings ANY ram should run up to 1000-1066, I can do it stable with my 800Mhz ram with those loose settings

Ahh, well Hemi, you shouldn't be having issues. Have you tried older BIOS's? Sometimes older ones clock better then newer ones
