      Hello lsdmeosap,

At the moment i'm very satisfied with my settings. There are two things which i dont know:
      - what is the purpose of all those leds which burn on the motherboard if I startup. After windows is loaded they do nothing.
      - at bootup I see AHCI reading al of my drives with a notify that all of them are in raid. Can I disable this notice ( to boot faster) without disconnecting my LG sata BD/DVD combi?

        henk van kempen

you need to manually set the Cpu PLL and Cpu termination as it is overvoltage too.

cpu pll should be below 1.9V or your chip will die easily try default first then if not stable increase it one step ahead.
Cpu termination should be leaved at stock. as it can add up heat in the processor add 1 step at a time when needed.

better set your voltage to stock rather than auto. because when your upping something eg: FSB the voltage set to Auto is going up to. and maybe more than what you need.

i recommend you use OCCT and start testing it with mix 2 hours. because Occt is much faster to detect errors. if 2 hours stable then your good for 24/7 use

the led that lights on your board is the phase led

you can activate them by installing DES(energy saving) it is found your CD driver or in the gigabyte downloads.(you must activate Cie and EIST on the bios.)

when you are doing something the led on your board shows how much you are utilizing

            Rightly said!

If you do not want to use EIST and C1E since you are overclocking, dont worry those LED's should only be on at post time, and off when you use your system.

Re: settings EP45-DS3r overclock q9550@3,5 stable

LSD and Harry, Thanx for all advises. I run OCCT and my comp was not stable after 1/4 hour. After testing and testing I downgraded the bios to F9 which appeared more stable with my 2x2g OZC reapers 1066. I had to change the frequentie of the dram from 800 to 1066 and the cpu down to 3,4 ghz which was still nice and now stable with 2 hrs OCCT. Temp of the cpu was 35 degrees celcius and with OCCT running 60-67 degrees celcius. The here publiced bios settings helped me al lott. Thanx! Greetings out of the Netherlands, Henk

plz Henk, post your setup. I'm not a good overclocker :P
                  For me, 3,4Ghz it's perfect.
I have P45 DS5 MoBo, and the same Q9550, with Corsair 4Gb 1066Mhz Dominator RAMs

                  Thx in advance :)

Hi.. am new to overclocking.would really appreciate any help
                    looking to hit 3.4ghz
                    these are my specs

                    q9550 2.83ghz
                    xigmatek hdt s1283
                    ep45 ds3r mobo
                    2x2gb ocz platinum 800mhz
                    500gb barracuda
                    600w tagan psu
                    gf 9800gtx+
                    centurion coolermaster 590

would these setings work for me or would i need to change something other than the fsb(Which will be 400mhz) perhaps the dram settings

also wanted to ask if leaving cpu vcore to auto is advisable

and what would you set the cpu termination and pll as..other thing is should the EIST AND C1E be left enabled or disabled

i use it for rendering in 3ds max...hope it can be stable for long hours of 100% load

                    thanks
