  • GA-MA78GM-S2H with 2x2GB does not start prtoblem

I am a newbe, the problem is
    GA-MA78GM-S2H board
and Kingston KVR80D2N5K2/4G set (which is 2*2GB sticks set)
does not start at all (no bios output info)

BUT if You chose to run
1*2GB from this set then it is OK

any hints, please? (I know it is not Muskhin, it is "budget" PC )

You have to set Refresh to Act Delay (Trfc) to 52-62 or as high as your board will go, and you need to manually set the ram voltages. You can do this with only one stick installed, then shut down and put in the other one.

You may also have to add some memory controller voltage, not sure I know nothing about AMD

Let me know if that helps any

      LSD thanks for advice.
I tried to search several advices and comments

and I tried only the simplest advice which was
set the clock to DDR2 667MHz. It worked.
The PC is stable (tested with Win XP installation and LEGO StarWars game )

It means that instead 800 mhz 2*2GB RAM
sticks work as 667mhz 2*2GB RAM

I would be grateful for hints
if one can get 800 MHz with this RAM type

If I have time for my own "search and try" with memory
voltage and timing patrameres. I'll post the results.
For the time being 667MHz must be enough.

How high can your board set trfc? Often times AMD boards will not allow this to be set high enough, so people who use 2x2 have to use Auto so that the SPD information for trfc gets set.
