I used to have Corsair ram in my rig but after reading many of the posts here I have since bought and just installed some Mushkin ram in my rig. So far so good. But what i would like to know is does S3(STR) sleep affect ram in a negative way? The tech support guys at Corsair told me specifically not to use S3 but I have not found anything about it on the Mushkin site. And since the mobo supports it and Vista has hybrid sleep as an option I wonder why the Corsair people would say don't use it. I for one do like to use S3 but if there is something bad with it-I won't.

Re: Hybrid sleep opinions
I am not sure why they would suggest that to you? I know it may have a adverse affect if you had the ram severely overvolted as it may get very hot with no fans running.
Those guys confuse me for sure, I have seen them suggest many times to run their own products at a slower speed in order to make it work (IE: Run your 80)Mhz ram at 667) Many times!
As long as you have your ram voltage set properly 2.0-2.1 or less you should be fine.
Depending on the board you have, you may need to update your BIOS before S3 will work properly. DO NOT USE @BIOS >>>
And of course the whole system ram and CPU needs to be stable to use S3 as well

Re: Hybrid sleep opinions
thanks for your wisdom!
which brings me to another point- about ram voltages, especially Mushkins',I am using the 996619 in the 2x2gig setup and i thought i have read here somewhere where you stated that these like to be "undervolted' that is not up to the 2.0 volts setting. or did i misunderstand this/ also since i am running 2x2 gig set what should I set the ram settings on my x48-dq6 at since they now are all at default settings? oh and I am using the F8a bios.

Re: Hybrid sleep opinions
2.1 is the warrantied amount for that set, I did mention that many of them do run best at certain speed with 2.0V instead of 2.1, but it also depends on all other settings.
I can give you some ranges for your ram but without your specs, motherboard, and what you are running your CPU at I can't say until you post any settings
Beta BIOS may cause you issues, is there a reason you are using it? Just wondered
