What are you asking how to do, sorry just trying to help. I assume you know how to check PCIE Speed due to your comment, but if not check with GPU-z >> GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility
My mistake , i wasn't clear enough.
PCI-E speed is 16x (checked with GPU-Z).
I was asking about the "quick boot" option in bios. It is obvious that it speeds the boot time ( in my machine it speeds boot time by 3sec) , but how it does that ?
How about Memtest86+? And how about LinX or Intel Burn Test? 12 hours is not enough to be sure really.
P45 non UDx models have sleep fixed a long time ago, that is why I asked. I assume you are of course already using the latest BIOS right? If so you should be able to resume without issues, unless you are not as stable as you thought.
I'd go for Memtest instead of Memtest86, testing if the new BIOS solved the 2.66D issue (high FSB 420+ and high RAM frequencies result in very high vRam to be stable). I think QuickBoot skips the Ram and Ide/Sata checks. There is also no 9.5 ratio for my E8400 :(
Not a good idea to use Memtest. Memtest86+ version 4 is the one to use. The older plain Memtest isn't updated any more. It's been known with some configs to throw out random errors that aren't really there as well as crash unpredictably, leading one to think that the PC/RAM is at fault.
Only download and use the program from the following link and never ever pay for Memtest86+ as it is free to use (subject to the relevant terms of the Gnu Public License. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

E8400 only has a max multiplier of 9, so you would never get 9.5
I assume you mention this, because on this thread I believe, someone mentioned a .5 multi on a CPU that did not allow it. This is normal, and you will only see this in the BIOS, he would not be able to show you a CPU-z screenshot or validation of this. It only appears that way in the BIOS, it will not be loaded as such. You can always enable .5, but you would only be able to use it when you are below your max CPU multi, such as 8.5 in this instance
Yep, a guy with Q9450 said he could enable 8.5 ratio, still waiting for confirmation though... I guess I mistaken the 86 and the plain memtest, one word of advice IBT/Linx will test ram/cpu heavily, but not the NB. So there is a possibility that you pass IBT successfully, but fail Blend or Memtest (as that happened to me).
P45-UD3P 1.0 F10i E8400@550x8 max stable OCZ Blade LV 2x2gb 1150@1350 2v max stable
Yep, Memtest is a confusing subject with the two different versions. IMO the host of the non 86+ version should just take his version off line as it's severely broken. I guess he must earn enough ad revenue to make it worthwhile keeping up.
Edit; This enabling the 0.5 multi, are you refering to this on a UD3 board? I was under the impression that all 45nm CPU's were capable of 0.5 multi's on all UD3 boards. Mine has been since the original BIOS. I've had a Q8200 with max multi of 7 that couldn't be set to 6.5 though, so maybe on the lower multi CPU's it wasn't implemented.
Ya they can all do .5, but we are talking about .5 above the mx CPU mutli's which someone a page or three back posted and confused some users, as he himself was confused, and thought he was using a higher multi than his CPU allowed due to the way the BIOS makes it appear.
He thought he could enable/use a 8.5 multi on his Q9450 (Max 8) because it appears that way in the BIOS. It just allows you to enable or set .5 with any multi, however, it of course will only be applied and used when selecting a main multi under your CPU's max allowed multiplier. Like you said, with his Q9450 he could use 6.5 or 7.5, but not 8.5
Has BIOS F10i for the UD3P made any changes to board signature or vendor I|D? I ask because I've just flashed to it and now Windows 7 has asked to be re-registered, insisting I call MS because "You need to call to register your copy of windows on new hardware".
Nothing hardware wise has been changed since Windows was installed (Genuine pre-ordered full version of Home Premium) which makes me think the flash is the cause. I even eliminated HDD corruption by restoring an image from yesterday. After a couple of minutes it asks for activation again...

Funny you mentioned that when I installed my vista hard drive I had to phone in to re activate with this bios 10i.
I am back on 10f anyway to slow a latencies on everest.
edit: with no dmi pooling table in dos showing after Giga Welcome boot screen on 10i it wasn't quiicker to boot, there still was a pause before intro to windows boot gui.
A small hyphen was barely perceptable in the upper left screen corner which would have been the pooling anyway.
10i needs more or work anyway.
It shouldn't have been released ,wasn't tested enough.
I won't use it at all.
I don't have time for that stuff.
Im having a few strange problems with the bios for my GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.6 bios FD. My 2 raid SSD's show up fine on reboot but my 2 hard drives on sata 2 dont. I had to turn off my computer to fix this. Also my 2 network adapters stopped working. Load optimized defaults in bios fixed that problem. On cold boots my computer just started to boot up then turn off and boot up again in a loop. Hitting the power switch on the PSU fixed that. Bios FB had none of these problems.

I have seen a few issues posted around about this BIOS, such as a PCIE issue, and a CPU-z issue with various tabs, but about your activation..
Did you have both LAN's enabled before and not now, or visa versa? This will ALWAYS cause Vista/Windows 7 to think you are using a new board. If you had both enabled when you activated, both need to be enabled now, if you only had one enabled when you activated that same one needs to be enabled now and not the others. Must be the same one only, or it will continue to say that.
You can call in if you want though, you will be fine. Just be sure you tell the computer or operator the right answer to the only question they care about.

What ports (Color and #) do you have your drives connected to?
How many reboots before starting windows? Is this always? Do you see a Red Warning Box in the MIT Section of the BIOS when you enter it?
I'm re-registered now. Yep I've done the auto register numerous times. I find it hilarious that they ask how many PC's the OS is installed on. However I can imagine the most retarded of pirates may answer "all 6 of my computers". Haha!
No change to NIC's etc. Both were enabled before and after flashing, crucially the first boot with the new BIOS to windows was a complete carbon copy settings wise. the only difference was Quickboot was enabled on F10i. Other than that, identical settings.
Windows also didn't ask to be re-registered until about the 6th re-boot, (2 cold 4 warm boots). Strange...
