Re: Gigabyte Latest BIOS
F4F was not meant to solve Sandforce SMART errors, that BIOS was made before any of the fixes for these issues were known.
So there hasn't been an update to fix that for the X38-DS4 yet, please send in a request for an update to correct Sandforce SMART errors here
Technical Support - GIGABYTE
If they do not get back to you with a proper response, meaning they want you to troubleshoot something or ask more questions like they are unaware of the issue, let me know and I'll see about getting an update for you.

Re: Gigabyte Latest BIOS
I am not sure as I haven't talked with Stasio lately. I think the BIOS engineers are probably very busy with P65/P67, so they may have put the older boards aside for a little bit.
I'll send him a PM later today and see what he's doing.

Re: Gigabyte Latest BIOS
About the GP-EP45-DS3R's F11g BIOS, this version has a serious issue regarding processor multiplier.
When you load a profile, and try to switch multiplier, the clock somehow gets stuck, like you put a 400x8, should give 3.2Ghz, but keeps giving 3.6Ghz instead.
And when you load a profile, the memory clocks aren't loaded. Then you should exit MIT, load the profile again, and then back to MIT, and the memory clocks are set correctly. This issue is an old one, but tolerable.
One change I noticed is the USB controller had its design somehow revamped. You can turn off the entire controller at once.
Not ranting about the regressions, just a report. I acknowledge that those bios are all BETA.
Regards.

Re: Gigabyte Latest BIOS
I don't get why it's a major issue. Just turn SMART off in the BIOS. It's not like it's an essential feature unless you're running enterprise and/or mission critical.Coolermaster CM 690 II advance Case
