Re: Gigabyte Latest BIOS
I had something similar happen to me in Nov 2009. My system (GA-EX58-UD5) starting acting wierd. BIOS getting stuck at startup... sometimes my boot drive wasnt recognized etc. I started a fresh install of Windows and that died too. The problem wasnt the board it was my OCZ 120gb Vertex SSD. As far as I know OCZ doesnt have any special diagnostics. I came to the conclusion that it was bad when a standard Windows format failed. Fortunately for me, I had a dual boot setup with an older WD Raptor as an alternate boot volume. I returned the failed OCZ Vertex and got a replacement. My experience has taught me to be sceptical of any SSD claims about superior reliabilty when compared to traditional hard drives. FYI, I am now using an Intel X25-M SSD as a boot volume ..lol
