Excuse my noobness. My question is reguarding GA-EP45-UD3 revision1.1 compatibility with a 6870gpu. currently running a 4850gpu and 500w psu. When new gpu inserted there is no card showing or even recognized .Has been flashed to latest Gigabyte 1.1 bios to try and fix to no avail. My questions are
1] Could this be a bios issue with the gpu.
2] Is revision 1.6 bios compatible, anyone try?
3] Or any suggestions.
Once again sorry for being new and if i posted in wrong forum. thank in advance.

That video card should work just fine with that motherboard. Make sure card is installed fully into PCI-e slot. Make sure both power plugs are plugged into the card. If still do not work make sure old card still works. If you still having problems you should start your own thread for further help.

Yes you can flash 1.6 BIOS if it will flash, but if so it's the same and is not going to help if there is a BIOS bug. I am not even finding a 1.6 page anywhere for the GA-EP45-UD3, only 1.0/1.1, are you sure that is your model and revision?
Did the last BIOS you used work fine?
If you haven't used an older BIOS maybe try one in case this last BIOS you tried is buggy
In the meantime yes go back to the previous BIOS if you cannot access your array in windows with the Marvell controller set in AHCI mode.
From what I noticed, similar to what you mentioned, this was just a BIOS side bug and I could still access and use RAID arrays in windows and in the MRU.
So you should be able to use the array still, just not access it in the BIOS, right?
If you go back, set the firmware to Force and save/apply/reboot so it will force back in the older firmware.
