I have tried X58-UD5 F8b bios in order to solve my issue when booting on USB (POST hanged). I notice a important issue with this new bios (bug not on F7): just clear cmos, then go into bios and disable HT: computer cannot reboot, it just power up, then instantly down, then up, etc ...
I've been running the ex-58-ud5 F7c on my non-overclocked i7-920 + UD5 board for the last couple of days. I had some issues with games (Team fortress 2 - lots of hangs, more than the normal ones I get with this board) and the standard solution to this is to disabling hyper-threading. However doign this results in a perpetual bios reboot cycle. :|
A full power off (power cable removed) will not allow you to get back into the bios you have to use the clr bios button to be able to boot again.
quoting myself ;)
The "perpetual reboot" issue I reported last time now has come back with the latest ex58-ud5 firmware (F8b @ the time of this post). Its repeatable everytime. Disable hyper threading = perpetual reboot cycle. Requires the use of the reset bios button on the back of the connector panel.

sirioo, thanks for modded BIOS.As you upload to "megaupload",some of them maybe cann't download.
When you post,go to attachment(zip your files) and attach files to your post.
Hi Sirioo. A couple of questions on the modded ud5 bios. Are all the options in the bios visible that are in the normal f8b bios, and does it install with flashspi. Thanks.

I would assume all of those modded BIOS's are missing the Memory and Uncore multi's after looking at the files. I have tried several times to do the mods myself, while it is always successful the only available Multi's are Memory 6-10, and Uncore 12-20.
I believe this is because we cannot release all the modules under the PCI Roms and put things back into the correct order.
Anyone care to let us know after testing these BIOS's if the Multi's are correct, it would be appreciated.
If they are correct and all still available, sirioo care to explain to me via PM your method as I do see you still have the new AHCI and RAID Rom at the end of the file order and not in the middle as designed to be.
I have tested them all except the above two, but they look to be the exact same. I have even modded my own, with the very latest Roms, they work fine but the result is always the same as mentioned above
Hi Lsdmeasap, Have you heard if there is any progress on a UD5 bios with the new ahci, as there seems to be a few boards that now have this included in newer bios's.
