Hello
Lately my EP45-DS3L has been driving me up the creek when it comes to stability, well no, its stable as a rock, until I let it sleep for a few hours and then do a resume, then it crashes on me pretty bad, to the point where even restarting the machine doesn't solve its instability. I have to turn off the entire machine and unplug it for several minutes before I can think of even trying to get a successful boot out of it (sometimes it takes many attempts of even this). Sometimes the system will go even more crazy and constantly start up/shut down before it even POSTs but more often it'll just BSOD on vista startup.
It all started happening after I moved to the F10 bios, before that it was just the 'normal' resume from s3 instability where one out of every 3 or so resumes would be met by a BSOD, and I could just restart and be on my way.
I'm using G.skill ram (6400CL4D) in a 2x2 configuration, with the ram voltage at 2.1v and an e8400. I can do a stable overclock to 3.6ghz easily with it and prime95 & memtest86 testing has proved it is stable, but until the S3 issue is fixed i'm leaving it at stock. When the system is stable i've done probably about 24+ hours of prime95 testing to ensure the system is stable.
I've loaded optimized defaults many times and reflashed it over a few times as well. I'm considering re-flashing down to F8 but I don't know that that will solve the problem. I've tried setting memory settings manually to ones posted on the forum but none of them have met with any success.
Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I should RMA it and pick up a different brand of motherboard? This is really making me pull my hairs out.
