Re: EP45-UD3R and Q8200 Overclock - would someone check this please?

    Hi

    My setup and speed setting are similar to yours: I have Q8200 and EP45-DS3LR. I am running 430 x 7 = 3.0GHz and DDR2-800 OC'ed to 860.

For me, stability comes before extreme overclocking. I am also using DCC apps like the ones you mentioned.

However, my voltage is higher than yours, I am having some problems with SATA IO. My MCH Core is at 1.3V

Well done that you have left most of the voltage unchanged. If it works for you then I think it's fine.

I am using Thermaltake V1 cooler and strangely my temp never goes above 40C. Are you getting similar results? My ambient room temperature is 18C.

I have the same setup as yours and I am able to run the FSB at 450 with 7x so 3.1GHZ.

      RAM is at 562Mhz each so running at 1124Mhz on 2 X 2GB G.Skill DDR2 1066

      All stock voltages

I have been running handbrake converting video and utilizing all 4 CPU's at 100% util and it only gets up to 48c at 1 hour max cpu util. Ambient temp is around 26c

If you have bench results like PerformanceTest 64-bit I would like to compare and see which setup works best.

Hey alritey Q8200 people on ud3's too

Im still trying to get over 3.55(I dont know how much more than that it will do but I cant find out with the mem I have or at least not on any settings I know of).
500mhz 3.5g its done a couple of passes on memtest 14hrs+ on prime 95 stable. One hr occt.
(stable enough for me anyway :0)
Turned it on at night then turned it off when I got home the next day.
This was with the side panel off.
Running whats in my sig most of the time, thats stable overnight on prime.
507 fsb works for an hr,i didnt leave it on any longer because I had to use v high mem voltage.
Stress testing temps dont go beyond 64/65 on the cores.actually 64/65 on core 0 1,2 n 3 are a few degrees lower but thats not supposed to be unusual.
Im using higher cpu ram and mch voltages tho so theres the difference.Settings mainly on auto tho ive tried all sorts vtt 1.6,different static reads etc.
I use the (turbo) memory setting because the timings seem good except Ive changed tRC to 48.
Ive seen 475or so on near standard volts,so I imagine anything around there should be good 24/7.
If any of you decide to see "what itll do on air" please post.
I have an old benchmarking screenie on one of my earlier posts ,taken at 490,I was in a rush cos my everest 30 day free trial was about to run out :)
Its in this thread, cant seem to upload it again,I suppose its time to do another anyway.

Oh idle temps are 40-41 on core 0 anywhere between 490-500+ fsb ,other cores 3-4 degrees lower

Hey DigitalAP if your memory is the same as mine,
The black PI with the epp 4-4-4-12 800mhz 1.8-1.9v.
You should be able to run 4-4-4-12 timings up to 875-900mhz

You might need 1.92+ volts set in bios ,but if I was running fsb 400-450 Id try n get the cas 4 settings running.
Having 4 sticks may make a difference tho.

The temps sound ok I guess. Its the core temps you watch out for.
You are running real temp or coretemp utility? .
Speedfan is good for fan speeds n voltages ,but it seems to underead cpu temps by 4-5 degrees.
