GA-EX58-UD5 + NCQ + Vista64

Hi,

Ok, so after managing to install vista on this board (that was sloooooow) I'm now interested in getting NCQ working since my Barra 7200.11 supports it.

Simple question... how do I do it? I've looked around but can't seam to find the option in device manager.

I have the stock drivers that came with the mobo dvd installed.

Dont you need to enable AHCI or something in the BIOS first to use NQC? I didnt know there was something in bindows to enable. Hmm I might google.

Unfortunately it doesn't, I saw that and am trying to figure out how to get there myself...

I figure I have to set the bios to AHCI, do something with the Gigabyte drivers, stand on one leg, shake my fist at the moon and mars at the same time all on the 30th of Feb...

Hmm Stuffs me, I do have AHCI Enabled on a NCQ HDD and I dont have very much in storage devices and its not under ide or anything. I use a SATA drive. Ill have to wait to give u a better answer as i would believe anything my dell tells me, wait till I get my GA-X48-DS5 back from RMA
