Vista Ultimate SP1
Two Sata 300 drives and two DVD burners on Intel connections .
Bios set as ACHI enabled .
Problem power on/reboot
Stuck either stuck at initial splash screen and cannot enter BIOS .
Or more troublesome is the stuck at Windows loading bar for hours .
The only way i can cure is to boot into BIOS set ACHI to disabled
Boot into Safe Mode and restart go back to BIOS and reset to ACHI .
The jumper clear CMOS for an hour trick lets me back into the frozen BIOS
But its the second problem that is more trouble as its as if the BIOS is loosing the ACHI path .
Tried later beta bios same .
Am i in my wisdom missing something i thought it may have been a driver problem but have just done a clean install with same problems .
Memory and HD tested OK no windows updates added all connections OK .
